01 — About

Worlds, systems, and the bits underneath.

I live in Halifax, and most evenings I’m either in an MMO or taking something apart — game code, a website, whatever’s in front of me — to see why it feels the way it does.

By day I’m a Trading Assistant at Sainsbury’s. Online ops is loud and unforgiving if you miss a detail. It’s made me fast, accurate, and decent with people who don’t have time for waffle.

I want that same energy in a junior developer role, ideally somewhere games and the web overlap. I’m British, based in Yorkshire, and ready to start.

02 — Experience

Work that taught me pace.

Retail, service, and phones. Not game studios — yet. The transferable bit is staying sharp when it’s busy.

    I fulfil online orders, chase stock discrepancies, and keep the floor moving when it gets loud. A lot of the job is prioritising under time pressure and working across teams without dropping the ball.

    Picking and packing Amazon orders against a 30-minute clock. Accuracy mattered as much as speed — check the list, pack it properly, send it out.

    Stock, replen, recycling, and keeping aisles presentable. Unflashy work, done properly, often while jumping between tasks.

    Service, food handling, allergens, and the odd bit of damage control when a glass went. Customer-facing, quick on my feet.

    Product surveys over the phone. I logged what people said, word for word. Listening carefully was the whole job.

This portfolio

I wanted a personal page that felt like a studio title screen rather than a CV template — dark, gold, and a bit cinematic. This is that pass.

02 · Study

Game systems

I play a lot of MMORPGs, and I spend as much time thinking about combat loops, inventory, and UI as I do actually playing. I like reverse-engineering why a system feels good.

Interface craft

I’ve been designing websites as a way to practise taste. Less ‘can I make a layout’, more ‘does this feel like it belongs in a specific world’.
